History Of The Netzarim - PDF.pdf
"And he answered and said to them, 'An evil and adulterous generation seeks a sign, and a sign will not be given to it except the sign of Yonan the prophet. For as Yonan was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights, likewise will the Son of man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights’..."

Pesach (Passover) Week

Many pastors and Christian teachers justify a Friday crucifixion with verses like Luke 23:54 "And that day was the preparation, and the Sabbath drew on." KJV, "It was Preparation Day, and the Sabbath was about to begin." NIV and Mark 15:42 "And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the Sabbath," KJV, "It was Preparation Day (that is, the day before the Sabbath). So as evening approached," NIV.

These pastors and teachers promote a false doctrine that the crucifixion occurred on a Friday because they lack the understanding of what "the day of Preparation" is and they do not understand that the Seven Moedim (appointed times) are Shabbatot (Sabbaths) apart from the weekly Shabbat. If they do understand what "the day of Preparation" is, and that the Seven Moedim are also Shabbatot, then they are intentionally teaching false doctrines.

Although every 6th day is a preparation for the weekly Shabbat, there is only one day during the Jewish year that is known as "the day of Preparation" and it does not necessarily fall on the sixth day of the week. It is the day of Preparation for the Shabbat of Pesach (Passover) and Chag haMatzot (Unleavened Bread). Pesach is one of the Seven Moedim. On this day, we prepare for the Shabbat of Chag haMatzot by removing all leaven from our homes and hearts, and sweeping down the spiritual and literal home. And we take the lambs to be slaughtered for Pesach (Passover).

Pesach, which actually means, “PROTECT” is also a memorial of the Exodus from Mitzraim (Egypt - symbolic of sin). The Exodus is symbolic of tushuva, turning away from sin and turning back to Elohim then having halacha (way to walk) in YHWH’s mitzwot (commandments - instructions). Also notice that these Moedim of YHWH are a “sign”, a mark in the hand and the forehead, Exodus 13:9-10.

“The day of Preparation” is also called Pesach (Passover) because Pesach is observed between the evenings. That is, when the sun goes down but there is still some light scattered in the upper atmosphere - twilight, and complete nightfall - dusk. When dusk (complete nightfall) occurs, about 45 minutes to an hour after sunset, on Pesach, the Shabbat (Sabbath) of Chag haMatzot begins. For more understanding of how the Netzari observe the Pesach and what it means you can download free pdf or word versions of the Pesach Siddur at mashiyach.com/chagim/haggadah.htm or you can purchase a believers haRabah Haggadah from tushiyah.org .

We need to understand YHWH's reckoning of time before we proceed. The day begins at dusk, not at mid-night nor at sunrise. How do we prove this? Simple. "G-d called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day." Genesis 1:5 "...And there was evening and there was morning, the second day." Genesis 1:8 "And there was evening and there was morning, the third day." Genesis 1:13. Notice that in the Biblical Hebrew evening precedes morning. This is carried over in the Greek and in the English - check your own Bible. It is for this reason that the Hebrews/Jews have always observed the start of the day as beginning at dusk. This is why the weekly Shabbat begins at sundown on the 6th day (Friday - Gregorian) of the week which marks the beginning of the 7th day. YHWH established time for a reason. Since the creation the seven day cycle has never been broken (see “Should Christians Be Torah Observant” for an explanation on the evolution of the calendar). The one physical constant humanity has had through the ages, is the seven day weekly cycle. Contemplate that.

If you find the concept of the day dawning at sunset is arguable, let’s clear it up. In Vayekra (Lev) 23:27 we learn that the Day of Atonement occurs on the 10th day of the Seventh Month. A few verses later the Torah makes clear what is meant by the 10th day: "and you shall afflict your souls on the ninth of the month at evening, from evening to evening you shall observe your Sabbath" (Lev 23:32). So we see that to fast on the 10th day means to fast from sunset on the 9th until the following sunset. In this verse "the ninth at evening" refers to the onset of evening at the end of the 9th, not the beginning! So the fast of the “Day” of Atonement on the 10th of the month runs from sunset ending the 9th until sunset ending the 10th.

The scripture heading on this page is proof positive that the crucifixion did not occur on a Friday. Y'shua made it explicitly clear that the only sign this wicked and adulterous generation would receive is the sign of Yonan (Jonah). Three days and three nights are impossible to squeeze into a Friday execution and a Saturday night/Sunday morning resurrection. Get out your calculators and you will find that Y'shua was talking about a literal 72 hours period not 24 to 36 hours. That is, 3 times 24 equals 72. This 72 hour period is extremely significant because, in it, Y’shua fulfilled the first three (3) of YHWH’s seven (7) Feasts (Moedim). For extra good measure, Y'shua made sure we understood this 3 twenty-four hour cycles by saying, "Three days AND three nights". It's very difficult to confuse what Messiah was saying.

This brings me back to the point I made on the home page that lead into this page. If you believe Messiah was executed on a Friday and resurrected on a Sunday morning, then you must believe that Messiah lied in Matthew 12:39-40. Either Messiah lied, or you have been taught a pack of lies under the guise of Christianity. Which do you suppose is correct?

If you cannot figure that out yet, let's look at another scripture that will certainly help.

"Ye know that after two days is the feast of the Passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified." KJV "As you know, the Passover is two days away--and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified." NIV - Matthew 26:2.

Notice that Y'shua does not say that in two days is the weekly seventh day Shabbat. Matthew makes it clear that it is the "Passover" on which Y’shua will be handed over to be executed. So, on "the day of Preparation (for Pesach/Chag haMatzot)" when the lambs were being taken out to slaughter for the Pesach, the (sey ha Elohim) lamb of G-d was taken out to be slaughtered in Preparation of Passover. Are you beginning to see the connection?

John 19:14 makes it very clear what this “Day of Preparation” is. So, let’s look at it from a number of translations.

And it was the eve of the Paskha, and it was about the sixth hour... Aramaic English New Testament

It was the day of Preparation of Passover Week, about the sixth hour... NIV

Now it was the day of preparation for the Passover; it was about the sixth hour...  New American Standard Bible

Now it was the Preparation Day for the Passover, about noon... (noon is erroneous and lacks understanding)  International Standard Version

And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour... King James Version

And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour... American King James Version

Now it was the Preparation of the passover: it was about the sixth hour... American Standard Version

It was the day when they made ready for the Passover; and it was about the sixth hour... Bible In Basic English

Now it was the preparation of the passover; it was about the sixth hour... Darby Bible Translation

Now it was the Preparation of the passover: it was about the sixth hour... English Revised Version

And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour... Webster’s Bible Translation

It was the day of Preparation for the Passover, about six o'clock in the morning... Weymouth New Testament

and it was the preparation of the passover, and as it were the sixth hour... Young’s Literal Translation

Although some of these esteemed translators recognize this was the day of preparation for the Pesach (Passover), they still equate it with a Friday in their notes. They either ignorantly (lack of knowledge) or intentionally ignore Matthew 12:39-40 and the sign of three days and three nights “IN THE BELLY OF THE EARTH”. But, if they were to incorporate Matthew 12:39-40 in their teaching, it would expose their false doctrine for what it is - “Mystery Babylon”. At the very least it would show that they are not competent to have translated the Bible to begin with and are not, therefore, Biblical scholars but mere frauds protecting their copyrights.

The sign of Yonan (Jonah), however, must be ignored and excluded from the teaching in order to maintain the man made pagan doctrine of an Easter (Ishtar) sunrise resurrection.

Make note of two important words above: ignore/ignorant. But still there is the resounding sheeple crying, “But my pastor said...”

It really does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that you cannot squeeze 72 hours into a Friday evening burial and a Sunday morning resurrection.

There is one more scripture we can look at that clearly demonstrates when the execution occurred by looking at how Matthew so exactly and precisely pinpoints the resurrection. If we back up 72 hours from that time, we have the day of execution. Let's examine Matthew 28:1.

"Now in the closing (evening) of the Sabbath, as the first of the week was dawning..."

Aramaic English New Testament

Aramaic literally reads "b'ramsha din b'shabata" or "in the evening of the Shabbat."

AENT pg 88 footnote 266

"In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week...”

King James Version

"After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week..."

New International Version

“Now late on the Sabbath, when the dawn of the first day of the week was near...”

Bible in Basic English

"Now late on the Sabbath day, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week..."

American Standard Version

"Now late on the Sabbath day, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week..."

English Standard Version

“And in the end of the Sabbath, when it began to dawn towards the first day of the week...”

Douay-Rheims Bible

"In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn towards the first day of the week..."

Webster's Bible Translation

"In the end of the Sabbath... Late on the Sabbath day". Remember in our discussion above, the day dawns at dusk, not at midnight and not at sunrise. And Matthew makes it clear the resurrection occurred at the closing, in the end, late on the Sabbath (the Havdalah - closing of Shabbat); not on a Sunday morning sunrise. If Christians studied the Hebrew roots of the faith they would immediately know and understand what the Havdalah (closing service) is. They would clearly understand the most significant event in human history is pinpointed with absolute precision by Matthew so there is no doubt or misunderstanding to the exact time it occurred.

But, the “mystery of iniquity (lawlessness, Torahlessness) has twisted, manipulated, controlled and sugar coated the scripture into a false doctrine that upholds and propagates Babylonian, Egyptian, Roman paganism on the very same day the pagans observed the Ishtar celebration (holy day). On Ishtar sunrise they turn their faces to the East, bow their knees and worship the sun - the fiery orb - as their god. They replaced the “Master of the Shabbat” with their pagan sun worship. Do you honestly believe that G-d approves of “Sun”-day worship, Christmas (pagan god Tammuz’s birthday), and the Ishtar celebration (complete with egg laying rabbits) in place of His Moedim - His  set appointments? Sadly the majority, like their ancient predecessors, will find every justification, doctrine and twisted scripture to substantiate and continue in their idolatry. They will find every excuse to do it their way, at their convenience, rather than YHWH’s way.

It’s the same old story since the creation. Man has gone after his own heart and his own ways in his own time with convenient appointments to worship false gods rather than listening and living YHWH’s Moedim (set apart times and appointments). Try calling the doctor’s office and “TELL THEM” you are setting an appointment at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, or any other day, to see the doctor. It is highly unlikely the doctor will accept the appointment you set. The majority of people have more respect for their flesh and blood doctor than they do for the One who designed and created them.

If we subscribe to a belief in a Friday execution, this would mean that Y'shua was in the belly of the earth for only 24 hours not 72 hours. So, how does Christianity account for the other 48 hours? They don’t - they simply want you to believe what they tell you rather than you relying on the Ruach haKodesh (set apart ancient Spirit) to write Torah upon your heart and revealing YHWH’s truth (I do not use the term “holy” which root means to be warmed by the sun).

If we back up 24 hours from the resurrection we come to Friday evening. Backing up 24 hours more we come to Thursday evening. Backing up the final 24 hours we come to Wednesday evening. Guess what? In the year of the execution of Messiah, Pesach was between the evenings on what we call Wednesday on the Gregorian calendar, (Aviv (Nissan) 14 on the Hebrew calendar). Chag haMatzot followed right after Pesach at dusk - dawn of the 15th day). That Wednesday was "the day of Preparation" for the Shabbat of Pesach/Chag haMatzot which then fell on Thursday of the Gregorian (notice that the fifth day of the week, Thursday, is not a weekly Shabbat).

Vayekra (Leviticus) 23:1-2 sets the tone for YHWH’s Shabbatot (Sabbaths). Verse 3 establishes the parallel between Shabbat (Sabbath) and sacred occasion. “...but on the seventh day there shall be a [Shabbat] of complete rest, a sacred occasion.” The rest of this chapter defines YHWH’s seven Moedim, sacred occasions - Shabbatot (Sabbaths).

What is critical for our discussion is to understand verses 4 through 7. Vayekra (Leviticus) 23:4-7 says, “These are the (Moedim) set times of [YHWH], the sacred occasions, which you shall celebrate each at it’s (Moed) appointed time: In the first month [Aviv (Nissan)], on the fourteenth (14th) day of the month, at twilight (twilight to dusk), there shall be a [Pesach - Protect] Passover offering to [YHWH], and on the fifteenth (15th) day of that month (begins at dusk - the dawn) [YHWH’s] Feast of Unleavened Bread. You shall eat unleavened bread for seven days. On the first day you shall celebrate a sacred occasion: you shall not work at your occupations...” See also D’varim (Deuteronomy) 16; Sh’mot (Exodus) 12

I know there are many out there that believe the King James version of the Bible is the only true version of the Bible. So, let's turn to the Companion Bible, King James Version, 1990, Kregel Publications, ISBN 08254-2288-4, The Authorized Version of 1611 with structures and critical, explanatory and suggested notes with 198 appendixes to see what it has to say about the execution and resurrection week of  Y'shua or, "Jesus" (the name used by Christians). Days are counted as 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Hence, Monday at 6:00 p.m. is the dawn of Tuesday or Monday/Tuesday. Here is what it says:

FOURTH DAY BEFORE PASSOVER, Aviv (Nissan) 11, Saturday/Sunday - Triumphal entrance into Jerusalem. Weeps over city. Enters temple. Returns to Bethany. Mark 11:1-7,11. Luke 9:29-35; 19:36-40, 41, 44. John 12:12-19.

THIRD DAY BEFORE PASSOVER, Aviv (Nissan) 12, Sunday/Monday - Returns to Jerusalem. Curses the fig tree. At temple for further cleansing and teaching. Matthew 21:18-22. Mark 11:12-19. Luke 19:45-48. John 12:20-50.

SECOND DAY BEFORE PASSOVER, Aviv (Nissan) 13, Monday/Tuesday - Returns to Jerusalem. Parables and questions. First great prophecy in the Temple. Second great prophecy on the Mt. of Olives. Returns to Bethany. Second supper with Simon. Second anointing. Matthew 21:23-28; 23:39; 24:1-51; 25:1-46. Mark 11:20-33; 12:1-44; 13:1-37; 14:1-9. Luke 20:1-9; 21:38.

PASSOVER (DAY OF PREPARATION for Pesach/Chag haMatzot), DAY OF CRUCIFIXION, Aviv (Nissan) 14, Tuesday/Wednesday - Preparation of last supper. Passover supper. Gethsemane, led away to be crucified. Crucified at 9:00 a.m., died at 3:00 p.m. Buried just before 6:00 p.m. (between the evenings). Matthew 26; 27. Mark 14; 15. Luke 22; 23. John 13; 19.

SABBATH OF UNLEAVENED BREAD, Aviv (Nissan) 15, Wednesday/Thursday - First night, first day in the tomb.

SECOND DAY OF UNLEAVENED BREAD, Aviv (Nissan) 16, Thursday/Friday - Second night, second day in the tomb.

WEEKLY SABBATH, Aviv (Nissan) 17, Friday/Saturday - third night, third day in the tomb. Arose at the end of the Sabbath at sunset. Matthew 28:1-10. Mark 16:1-18. Luke 24:1-49. John 20:1-23.

(My notes in parenthesis).

From this evidence, provided by the 1611 Authorized KJV, we can clearly conclude that Messiah was not lying in Matthew 12:39-40 and that Yeshua did in fact fulfill the sign of Yonan. Since Y’shua did not lie, what is the only other obvious conclusion?

We can also accurately conclude that “Good Friday” and a Sunday morning resurrection are false doctrines. Upon these evidences we clearly see that there is no scriptural basis whatsoever that allows man to negate YHWH’s seventh day Shabbat (which was established at creation long before Moshe - Moses) and change it to the first day of the week, “Sun”-day or “the lord’s day (Baal means my lord, hence, “Sun”-day has always been referred to as “the lord’s day”, which myriads of Christian preachers, priests, evangelists and teachers openly proclaim).

Christianity is a multi-billion dollar a year industry. It is sad that so many church pastors will put financial gain above preaching the truth. They put their church building monuments, to themselves, above the truth. They allow and encourage their congregations to observe pagan holy days like Christmas (Tammuz’ birthday Dec 25th) and Easter (Ishtar); to violate the second commandment by putting up crosses and nativity scenes or hanging pictures of “Jesus” on the walls. They taunt the living Elohim by refusing to worship YHWH on His Moedim while finding nothing wrong with paying lip service on the day they have chosen to worship on. But do they actually worship, or do they just pay a couple of hours of lip service from the pulpit on a day they have created to worship mammon?

The Sabbath is about focusing on our Creator. It’s about stripping off our foolish pride and arrogance to come before YHWH on His terms, not ours. The Sabbath is about rest, ceasing from labors, unyoking the beasts, and refraining from causing other people to have to work (like going to the restaurant after “church” services). In that way we have removed all distractions so we can focus and have a deep and meaningful relationship with YHWH.

YHWH has spoken to us through His Tanakh (Torah, Neviim, Ketuvim), the Ketuvim Netzarim, and His Ruach. Do you place these above the doctrines, set times and holy days of men? Or will you continue to cling to your traditions?

What They Said

"Where are we told in Scripture that we are to keep the first day at all? We are commanded to keep the Seventh; but we are nowhere commanded to keep the first day. The reason why we keep the first day holy instead of the seventh is for the same reason that we observe many things, not because the Bible, but because the [Catholic] Church, has enjoined them." Rev. Isaac Williams, Ser. on Catechism, p. 334.
